Brad uses a classical osteopathic approach that treats the whole body instead of its symptoms. When treating the body collectively, he aims to improve the body's innate capacity to self-heal and regulate. This is accomplished through gentle, non-invasive, hands-on manual therapy addressing restrictions within all layers of body tissues, improving fluid flow and circulation to the nervous system, muscles, and joints. Over time as restrictions reduce, the body can adapt to life's daily stresses more efficiently while maintaining and sustaining health for the long term.
Symptoms are usually a result of an underlying root cause. Often, these symptoms appear in other areas of the body that may seem completely unrelated. It is Brad’s job to look for the cause that is creating your issue and put the body in a position where its natural healing mechanisms can operate at their best to address injury or dis-ease within the body. The classical osteopathic approach allows assessment and treatment to be uniquely crafted for the patient based on their needs, so no treatment is the same. Many people may come into the office with a similar issue (i.e. shoulder pain), but how that issue manifested is unique to that person, and therefore treatment is adaptive. Factors such as previous health history (injuries/surgeries), lifestyle, and habits all play a role in determining the best approach for each patient.
Whenever I am not in the office, my favourite activities include meditating, swimming, running, walking/hiking, travelling, spending time with my partner, getting into games of pickleball whenever possible, and learning piano on the side. Whenever I have the pleasure to visit my hometown in PEI, I love to visit my favourite beaches, soak up the sun, and finish the day by getting some ice cream at the local hot spots.
My goal is to help all patients improve their quality of life through osteopathic manual therapy and a patient-centred approach. I want to get to know you to better understand your issues and offer any advice that can help you achieve your health goals. I aim to liberate your body of restriction so that you can live daily with better movement, less pain, an improved sense of well being and awareness of your body.
